# Why EnviroMax® and EnviroMax Plus® are Top Surface Sampling Swabs

And that's how [EnviroMax® and EnviroMax Plus®](http://www.puritanmedproducts.com/search?q=enviromax&sa=GO#gsc.tab=0&gsc.q=enviromax&gsc.ref=more%3Aproducts&gsc.sort=) were born: We saw a customer need for easy-to-use environmental swabs capable of spot checking virtually any surface. EnviroMax®  helps keep food facilities clean and safe. Here's how.

## **Designed for Better Sampling**

We put EnviroMax® (dry) and EnviroMax Plus® (pre-moistened) swabs together with collection tubes to create a superior environmental, equipment, and surface sampling kit. EnviroMax Plus® swabs are pre-moistened with neutralizing buffer and are never oversaturated. Both types are available sterile or non-sterile and are easily accessible from an edge-peel wrapper. 

The oversized swab consist of a rigid paddle inside a foam tip. This design was inspired by a customer in the food production industry who needed to perform sampling on large pieces of equipment with varying surface terrain. The swab tip is made out of a medical-grade polyurethane foam, which increases sample and elution counts. Tips come in two configurations: **pointed** for hard-to-reach areas such as drains, and **round** for floors, walls, and countertops.

Our swabs are securely attached to quick-turn open, leak-resistant collection tube caps so you don't have to worry about media solution leaks, loss of collection contents, or internal contamination. The 6" handle length offers users greater access to hard-to-reach areas. The large cap gives you an excellent grasp for maneuvering the swab while testing—no gloves necessary! When you're done sampling the rigid tubes can be written on to make labeling a breeze. 

## **The Difference is in the Details **

We considered every detail when designing EnviroMax® to help our customers take sampling to the next level. We prioritized making our collection device leak-proof, since others in the industry can't make the same guarantee. 

Think color is just for aesthetics? Not so. We chose bright white handles and swab tips to facilitate easy visual detection of colorimetric changes that are an immediate indication of positive test results. And the caps are orange to symbolize the universal color for biosafety per OSHA standards.
