Vancouver’s weather in November can be chilly and rainy. Be sure to pack a warm coat, umbrella, and layers for when the temperature dips in the evenings.
Vancouver boasts a diverse food scene. Here are some local spots to check out:
After doing a little research (thank you, Eater!) for ourselves, we are definitely making reservations at or popping into the following three restaurants during our time in Vancouver:
PiDGiN – Known for its drink and bar food, we also hear that Pidgin’s chicken wings are some of the best in the city. We’re determined to find out if it’s true!
Parker Rooftop – Who can pass up a rooftop bar? Certainly not us. We’re in it for the delicious food AND the views of the Vancouver skyline. We hope you’ll join us.
Granville Island Public Market – In our free time, we’re excited to pop over to Granville Island and do some exploring. This public market will definitely be a food stop for us, especially if we’re looking for something a bit more casual.
Need a caffeine fix between sessions that isn’t conference coffee? We get it – and, accordingly, we mapped out the top rated coffee shops near the Convention Centre. Check these out (we’ve linked the ones with websites):
Revolver – Located at 325 Cambie St in Gastown, Vancouver. Will we be trying the espresso flight? Yes, yes, we will.
CAFE SIGNAL – Located at 88 W Pender St #2113, Vancouver. Reviews point to the lattes and the blueberry muffins.
inBtwn Cafe – Located at 1625 Hornby Street, Vancouver. We’ll take our coffee with a scoop of gelato. Yes, please.
Elysian Coffee Downtown – Located at 1100 Burrard St, Suite 102, Vancouver. Reviews say there are some tasty treats to try.
Guffo Cafe – Located at 331 Howe St, Vancouver. People recommend croissants.
Cheers to being as caffeinated as possible!

When you visit AMP 2024, stop by Puritan’s booth (#423) for an in-depth look at our specimen collection innovations. Our booth is located near the coffee station and Innovation Spotlight Stage One, where we'll be showcasing our latest swab technologies and discussing how we can support your molecular diagnostics needs. Two questions we’ll be pondering at our booth, include:
What trends do you see in this world of molecular pathology?
Where should we look to be prepared to address new technologies as they are implemented?
Pop by and have a friendly conversation with us about these topics!
Not familiar with Puritan Medical Products? We are America’s swab experts, specializing in creating the best swabs in the business for over 100 years. At Puritan, we value feedback and collaboration.
We encourage you to visit us to learn more about our specimen collection products. We're eager to meet our peers and customers and discuss how we can drive the development of next-generation tools that improve laboratory efficiency and patient outcomes.
When we attend conferences, there are usually some fun and interesting people we meet along the way. Bring a notebook with you and jot down some notes after an interaction with someone new, visiting booths, or attending sessions. This may jog your memory after-the-fact about something that you want to follow up on.
Networking is key during conferences!
