Here at Puritan, we’ve been eagerly anticipating the arrival of asm2015 (115th General Meeting of the American Society for Microbiology) since we left Boston last year!
We love this event because there’s always something new and exciting to learn at ASM’s annual General Meeting. This year’s conference and expo will feature dozens of sessions dedicated to myriad topics in the world of microbiology, featuring an opening session on “Who, What and Where in Microbial Relationships”.
Although we aren’t able to make it to all of the interactive workshops, scientific sessions, and networking events, we wanted to take the time to compile a list of five valuable events that will definitely be worth your time at asm2015. Our “can’t miss” list is a roster of some of this year’s symposia and events that we think will be of particular interest to our customers and partners, but the full list of sessions and symposia can be found by visiting the asm2015 General Meeting and Diagnostic Microbiology & Epidemiology Program Planners. We’re looking forward to learning with you at asm2015!
Dirty Hospitals, Infected Patients: The Role of Environmental Cleaning in Preventing Transmission of Pathogens in Healthcare
Beyond Verification: Optimizing Utilization, Technology, and Workflow in Micro Lab
June 1, from 8 to 10:30 a.m. - Laboratory leaders have an invaluable role in leading clinical staff in the correct use of tests to use resources efficiently and provide the best possible patient care. Even experienced Physicians can feel unsure about which test to order when multiple tests are available for the same pathogen, or if multiplex tests are offered for detection of pathogens found at the same body site. Laboratories are constantly challenged to integrate new technologies in order to determine when to test for esoteric organisms. To address cost containment, speakers will discuss how best practices for best patient care and efficient laboratory operations can conserve lab resources. This practical session will be valuable for laboratory directors, managers, supervisors and technologists. (VIEW ABSTRACT)
