At Puritan, we’re lucky to have a strong community of loyal, hardworking, and talented individuals who support our efforts every day. Today, we’re celebrating Quality Inspector Renee Hasting, who has been working at Puritan for 15 years!
April 13 marked Renee’s 15-year milestone at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Guilford, Maine; and we couldn’t be more proud to have her onboard. To celebrate Renee's tenure, we sat down to learn a little more about her, both on and off the clock.
What do you do when you're not working at Puritan?
I hang out with my husband and family at camp. I don’t have any children, so my dogs (a black lab, a chocolate lab, and a new golden retriever puppy) are like my children.
How do you describe what you do to people who don't know about Puritan?
I inspect medical devices that are manufactured at Puritan. For example, I make sure there is enough fiber on an applicator, enough product in a chipboard, or that expiration dates are current and match up with the products.
What is your best memory in all the years you've worked at Puritan?
Ten years ago, I broke the record for packing on the 6" cotton tipper machine: 38 cases during one 10-hour shift! At the time, my niece and I were in a competition to see who could break the record.
How has Puritan changed in the time you've been here?
There has been a lot of expansion and renovation with the medical plants. Many of the machines on the floor have moved within the building throughout the years, and there has been the expansion of the new warehouse. Management is more hands-on than ever before.
Renee’s family has a long history with Puritan. Her grandmother and both of her parents worked here (her mother still does, with more than 40 years of service). Renee also has two sisters, three cousins and a niece employed with us. Maybe that’s why our teams work so well - we really are family!
It’s the hard work and dedication of employees like Renee that makes Puritan a leading manufacturer of single-use medical products, worldwide. Thank you for your service Renee. We’re lucky to have you!
